Message of ICSOA’s President

Cases of Covid 19 in Australia are increasing every day. In Australia, COVID 19 is established as community transmission. Social distancing and hygiene are really important. We must follow social distancing to slow the transfer in the coming months. Australian government has announced a range of additional measures to help slow the spread of Coronavirus in Australia.

As of today, all non-essential indoor gatherings of greater than 100 people (including staff) will no longer be permitted. Our government has also raised advice for all overseas travel to the highest level, meaning that Australians should not take foreign travel at this time. Australians who are currently overseas should make arrangements to return home as soon as possible. ICSOA has cancelled or postponed all the events to follow the guidelines specified by the federal and state governments.

It has been noticed that there are panic and scarcity of a few products in the shopping centres. We understand, and certainly know that life-saving goods are essential and should be with us but stockpiling is not the Australian way of life. Please demonstrate your humbleness. Panic is not the answer to resolve the crisis.

We need to provide all possible assistance to the federal, state governments, councils and healthbodies who are helping us to fight this nasty virus .

This is a difficult time for all of us, and we need to face this as a united Australian community family.
