Mr. Zia Ahmad Coordinator

Zia Ahmad is the Managing Editor of the Australasian Muslim Times AMUST and a Trustee of Islamic Foundation for Education and Welfare (IFEW) as well as Australian MEFF Consortium (organisers of MEFF-Multicultural Eid Festival and Fair). He received the Premier’s Multicultural Media Awards 2016 in the category of Best Editorial / Commentary of the Year. He is an Ambassador of Peace appointed by the Universal Peace Federation. Zia is professionally a Biochemist, BAppSc (Biomedical Science), MAppSc (UTS). Zia has actively served School of Molecular Bioscience at University of Sydney for more than 40 years before his retirement in mid 2013.

Mr. Taufeeq Ahmed Sheikh Assistant Coordinator

Taufeeq Ahmed Sheikh is a community-driven think tank and entrepreneur. An advocate for social equity & cohesion, Taufeeq works for Australian Theatre, Films & Radio as an Actor, Writer, and Director & Cultural Advisor. On Radio his work extends to Journalism, Literature, Community Development. From Mumbai, Taufeeq finds his ancestral roots in UP India. Taufeeq comes from a family of respected hoteliers and social reformers which led him to pursue his graduation in hospitality, he is also an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). With ICSOA Taufeeq focuses on building a credible & sustainable ecosystem for Indian Muslims in Australia to encourage community participation and assimilation through his work in Media.

Mr. Abbas Zaheer

A Sydney based media professional. Abbas graduated from University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) with a Masters of Arts in Journalism. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Media Arts and Production. His breadth of experience spans from television news with Indian news channels to roles in Sydney based sports channel Sky Racing. He is also interested in producing documentaries. Abbas has taught media production and digital communication courses at School of Design, Communication and IT, University of Newcastle

Mr. Hanif Bismi

Hanif Bismi was born in India and migrated to Australia in 1988. He graduated in Accounting and Finance and currently works for the Australian government. He has post graduate degree in Middle Eastern religion and history from Charles Sturt University. He received university certificate in Iran Studies from University of Sydney. He is currently a research student at Western Sydney University. He writes regularly about current affairs and expert in Australian Muslim migration history and identity. He is currently Vice President MEFF and Advisor to ARO

Mr. Iqtedar Abdi

An IT professional and owner of Alinfo Solutions, Iqtedar has an Honours in Computer Sciences and a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Flinders and Adelaide Universities. After research institutes and Corporate ITC work in India, he returned to Sydney, Australia. While at UNISYS, he obtained a Masters in Engineering Management from UTS. His creativity includes Writing, Producing and Directing Video, Theatre & Radio plays and Project Managing Audio & Stage. He has broadcast on All India Radio, Adelaide 5UV and Sydney stations SBS, Monica Geet Mala and Indian Link FM. He runs his own Mobile App internet radio 'Suniye Tau'.

Mr. Zahid Jamil

Zahid Jamil, a Gold medal awardee of Institution of Engineers, India, has studied engineering at renowned Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). Managing a financial planning practice based in Sydney for over 20 years. He has been a passionate writer on various internet forums and in community and national newspapers for past several years. He also spoke regularly on Sydney's community radios and on Australian talk back radios. He heads South Asian Muslim Association of Australia, SAMAA, a benevolent institution offering wide range of services to the community elders.
