As the first Muslim woman elected to any Australian Parliament, I know these are challenging times for Australian Muslims. But I am heartened that we live in a country that is so rich in cultural diversity.

Congratulations to the Indian Crescent Society for working to not only give people of Indian Muslim background a voice, but also working with other communities to promote and strengthen cultural connections and advocate for peace and harmony.”
